Rustic Thanksgiving Mantel Decor
1. Leaves & oversized pumpkins
Nothing says Thanksgiving like a beautiful collection of fall items, like in the above photo. From the fireplace slowly burning to the garland of leaves on the mantel, this is surely a great idea for your own Thanksgiving mantel. The thick, large candles paired with the gothic style candle sticks, although different, work perfectly together.
The soft glow that this would give in the evening time is sure to remind you of the best days of fall. The collection of pumpkins and other gourds surprisingly don’t take that much away from the mantlepiece, regardless of their size. To top it off, the leaf wreath looks stunning behind a fake window.
2. Welcome, Fall
If you really don’t want fall to miss your house, then make sure you grab a sign exactly like the one in the photo above! This is perfect for someone who loves a good sign. It’s also a great focal point to add to your mantel if you want to do something a little different then the usual mirror or wreath.
This mantel is a gorgeous example of how you can incorporate some natural elements to your space without going overboard. The string of leaves goes well with the perfectly placed pine cones. Instead of a fall flower, this person opted for bundles of wheat, which look gorgeous and also give off the perfect harvest vibes for Thanksgiving.
3. Shades of orange
Not only does this showcase a stunning mantel, but it also gives a gorgeous example of how you can tie in your living room decor with the items on your mantel. The mantel has the typical yet beautiful combination of pumpkins, leaves, and candles.
It doesn’t seem like each item is meticulously placed, but I assure you the disorder is intentional. The rich orange, green, and white color pattern is effortlessly extended from the mantel to the rest of the room, making the room inviting yet very organized. This decor would be perfect for Thanksgiving or the entire fall season.
4. The hands of time
Above is another stunning example of how to decorate your mantel for Thanksgiving and the overall fall season. It takes advantage of the warm and inviting light that candles bring to any space. The collage of leaves and pumpkins frame the mantel beautifully.
The rich orange color in this color pattern is extended down to the fireplace with a fresh bouquet of flowers. The focal point of the space is definitely the large clock. Set against the stone of the fireplace, it’s a bold and magnificent decor piece that brings the entire look together.
5. Ghosts like Thanksgiving, too!
This is an adorable example of a more simple yet charming example of how to decorate your mantel for the Thanksgiving season. If you want to do the least amount of decor on your mantle, two items will suffice as you can see here: warm candlelight and a leaf garland. Basic yet perfect for any fall mantel.
The color brown is really emphasized in this photo, which is one of the most underrated colors. It’s so versatile, but often seen as a “gross” color. This photo demonstrates its beauty in the different items, from the pumpkins to the leaves to the adorable painting. Speaking of the painting, this is one of my favorite trends from social media.
Artists would upcycle paintings, but add their own little, cute ghosts in them. I love this idea of combining bits of Halloween in there as well. Although we do want to focus on the Thanksgiving holiday, this way you can extend the use of your decor for the entire fall season.
6. Thankful
Here’s another example of a charming way to decorate your mantelpiece very specifically for Thanksgiving. From the cute, stuffed scarecrows to the “Thankful” signage, this decor is very much perfectly matched for the Thanksgiving season. This rustic decor is almost nostalgic in a way, more of how your grandparents or parents would decorate for fall.
The addition of pumpkins and leaves are a great touch that really ties it all together. One thing that would improve the overall look is decluttering the space a little. You could do so easily by removing the “Believe” sign from the fireplace and also removing the candles on the left side of the mantle.
7. Thanksgiving trees & pumpkins
The above photo shows such a great example of taking items that are typically utilized for other holidays and making them work for Thanksgiving instead. The first thing you probably notice are the charming, little trees on either side of the fireplace.
Decorated in a rich blend of fall colors with a few pumpkins here and there, they rewrite what a “holiday” tree can look like. This decor extends the leaf decor up to the mantelpiece, framing it with a simple string. Although the top may be a little busy, it balances itself with an equal amount of decor on either side.
8. Matching wreath & garland
Here’s an absolutely stunning decor piece that is more simple than it looks. The gorgeous wreath clearly matches beautifully with the garland below it, as well as the small branches on either side of the fireplace. Add some candles, pinecones, and pumpkins and you can replicate this mantelpiece.
This picture also demonstrates how the rest of the living room can reflect the color scheme and patterns in the mantel. Altogether, this shows that a few good pieces of decor will easily upgrade your space. Home decor doesn’t have to be too complicated if you find the right pieces that fit in your space and blend together as well as these do.
9. Knit isn’t just for blankets
The photo above showcases another style that is simple, cozy, and gorgeous all at the same time. Fall flowers on either side of the mantel are a perfect choice in lieu of the typical leaf garland. The oversized mirror is absolutely beautiful and a great focal point for the space.
But one of the best parts of the mantelpiece is something a little atypical, which is something that looks like a knitted throw blanket tucked right under the mirror and is pulled through to hang just enough to barely touch the top of the fireplace. Add in those warm candles, and you have the perfect, inviting mantel for Thanksgiving.
10. Leaves & wreaths
If you’re a lover of fall leaves, then the mantelpiece decor above would be a perfect option for your space! When it comes to home decor, remember, it’s all subjective. You choose what you love and what will make you the happiest. That being said, the leaf garland with matching multiple wreaths can be a bit much for a lot of people, but not if that’s one of your favorite parts about fall.
The larger candleholders are gorgeous and the black matches nicely with the fireplace. The rich orange color of the leaves is extended down by all the different pumpkins and other gourds surrounding the candles. Using different sizes is a great idea because it adds depth to the space.
11. A very neutral Thanksgiving
Maybe you’re a little less into color and more into a neutral, modern color scheme. And that’s totally okay! As shown in the photo above, you can definitely put together a gorgeous Thanksgiving mantelpiece using neutrals. In this case, they used whites and off-white to create their beautiful mantel decor.
The candlesticks on one side are stunning. They’re balanced perfectly by the “plants” on the other side. I use that term loosely because they’re usually combinations made of dried grasses and wheat bundles, but they still look great! The mirror is a great focal point of the space and pairs well with all the other decor items on the mantel.
We can’t forget to talk about the beautiful centerpiece of the mantel with the white pumpkins and grass bundles. Although it seems as though the white pumpkins may be a floral arrangement, you can definitely replicate this with some white pumpkins.
