Super Cool Hidden Coffee Bar Ideas
1. Use a moveable cart
This may not be what you had in mind, but if you truly want a coffee bar that can be hidden away but don’t have the space or money to do anything else on the list, this is a great option. If you confine your coffee bar to a cart, you can easily move it or put it away when not in use.
There’s also so many great, cheap options that you choose from. And the storage capacity of carts with multiple levels on it can’t be beat. Depending on what your budget is looking like, you could opt for a cheaper option from Walmart or go splurge a little.
2. Keep your coffee bar in your pantry
Putting your coffee bar in your pantry is an easier way to go about having a hidden coffee bar. You could absolutely store your entire setup in there without anyone even knowing. Most of the time, it won’t require a lot of extra work because pantries typically have preexisting shelves.
Just make sure that the shelves that you’re placing your machine on are strong enough to hold it. Regardless, it’s a really great option, especially if you have a large pantry.
3. Keep your coffee bar in a pull-out shelf in a cabinet
This is another option that doesn’t require you to install anything, which we always love. It may require you to remove or adjust other shelves in order to fit your machine height-wise. Keeping your coffee bar near your cabinets and other possible drawers can allow you to also hide any coffee accessories that may not fit on the same shelf as your coffee machine.
It’s a great way to keep all of your coffee pods, syrups, and more close together without cluttering up your countertop. The only con about this one is if you need an electrical outlet. Typically, you don’t find electrical outlets inside of cabinetry.
4. Install a pocket door on your countertop or cabinet
Now, we’re getting into the options that require a little more work, and definitely some tools. Pocket doors are a wonderful way to aesthetically hide appliances or other kitchen items on countertops or in cabinets. This is a really popular option for those with larger countertops and more space to work with.
If you are a handy DIYer, then by all means, you can absolutely go ahead and try to install a pocket door yourself, but we would suggest going with a professional. But be warned, working with a professional could be around anywhere from $1K to a little under $5K, depending on labor and materials.
5. Install an appliance garage
Installing an appliance garage is another option that will require a lot more work, but it’s very much worth it. You may not think you know what an appliance garage is, but you do. It’s a specialized, built-in cabinet that helps conceal kitchen appliances, usually on countertops.
The perfect spot to add one of these are in any unused corners, especially those with electrical outlets. You typically need a lot more space, otherwise you might end up feeling cramped when it’s open. Just like with the pocket door, you can absolutely DIY an appliance garage in your kitchen.
There are even some DIY kits out there for you to use. These usually run you around $100-200 while getting it done professionally can get closer to 1-2K. Do you research and pick what’s best for you and your kitchen.
