Cute Kitchen Decor For Christmas
1. Decorate your cabinets handles or knobs
Cabinet handles or knobs tend to get the least amount of love when it comes to Christmas decor. There are plenty of options when it comes to cabinet knobs, but I personally like Knobez. They have the absolute cutest covers for various holidays that you need to check out.
If you’re not a fan of covers, you could opt for just adding a red pre-cut bow or even tying your own, whichever you prefer. I would go with the red pre-cut bows as they look cleaner and more professional (and it’s much easier).
2. Add some mini trees
This is a super easy tip if you do something similar with Halloween and pumpkins, which is a pretty popular option for a lot of people. Go through your kitchen and look for the perfect spots to add some mini Christmas trees.
Some typical spots that people choose are windowsills, open shelving, and by the sink. You could also add two or more Christmas trees to each spot to give it a more layered, collected look.
3. Dress up your coffee area
Where and how you make your coffee in the morning really sets the mood for the day. Adding some touches of Christmas decor can really put you in the Christmas spirit in the morning, which is definitely a great way to wake up.
There are plenty of small pieces you can add, such as small fairy lights, mini garland, and plenty of Christmas-related mugs. One of my favorite options is to keep a jar of peppermint sticks or candy canes to use as something to stir your morning drink.
4. Put together a Christmas tray
Another great option to add a touch of Christmas to your kitchen is to put together a tray of various Christmas items. A typical tray usually includes a reindeer or another Christmas-related figurine, a small amount or garland and lights, candles, a few bulbs and pine cones, and maybe a fake wrapped present or two.
You can get as creative as you want with this tray. It could fit any color scheme that you want, or it could be as eclectic as they come. If you want to keep it more simple, DIY would be better, but if you’re not the most creative type, there’s good news! Amazon actually has pre-made trays that you could order that come ready to go.
5. Have a candy jar
This may be one of the more simple tips on this list, but it’s definitely one of the favorites. There are so many different options with this idea. You could go with a clear, glass jar and fill it with candy that has red, green, and silver wrapping to really lean into the Christmas classic colors.
Another idea is to grab an adorable container that’s shaped like a typical Christmas figure or item, such as a gingerbread house or Santa, himself. Don’t worry, though, if you have kids in the house that might accidentally knock it over, there’s always the safer and more duration option of acrylic.
6. Build (or buy) a gingerbread house
One of the classic traditions of the Christmas season is making a gingerbread house. You can absolutely turn this into a really fun activity for kids. Albeit, it may be a messy one, it’s a great idea to keep them occupied for at least any hour. You can get gingerbread kits at plenty of different stores, including Costco or even your local grocery store.
If you’re not really looking to clean up a big mess, you can always buy an inedible version online. There are endless options when it comes to fake gingerbread houses, and they range in price, from cheap to expensive. Additionally, you can get adorable personalized gingerbread houses on Etsy.
7. Add some plaid
Although not necessarily a Christmas pattern, plaid is one of those cozy, warm patterns that definitely gives you winter vibes. Make sure that the colors of the plaid are different shades of red, green, black, white, and silver. You can add them to different areas of your kitchen.
This includes adding a plaid table runner, tablecloth, rug, or even place mats. You could even add some plaid to small areas throughout, like some plaid ribbon in your Christmas tray or tied around your candy jar.
8. Make your dish towel Christmas-ready
If you’re not a fan of plaid, or maybe you have too much of it already, aim to do something different with your dish towel that’s still in the Christmas spirit. There are endless options of dish towels that you could choose from. It all depends on your own style.
If you actually want to use the dish towel and not just as a piece of decor, a smart option would be to opt for something darker as to not show the stains that will inevitably end up on it.
9. Add some garland to open shelves
Another super easy tip that will add a touch of Christmas to your kitchen space is garland. Garland is a pretty general term, although people tend to think of the garland that looks like fake grass.
There’s beaded, tinsel, popcorn and cranberry, or wood bead as well. Depending on what you prefer, you can delicately place that on any open shelving or even along the edges of your countertops that sit underneath your cabinets.
10. Wrap up your cabinet doors
If you love a good DIY decor project that’s simple and easy, then this is perfect for you. Making a few of your cabinet doors look like big presents is an absolutely adorable idea that anyone could appreciate. It’s also pretty easy on the wallet as well.
All you need is some wrapping paper, some ribbon, and tape, which you probably already have hanging around from last Christmas. It might be easier if you had some stick-on bows, but ribbon will work all the same!
11. Put together a perfect Christmas centerpiece
We are wrapping up this list with this tip because you can definitely get away with just adding a gorgeous centerpiece to your kitchen and nothing else. The most typical combination for a Christmas centerpiece is a combination of garland, candles, flowers (like poinsettas), and maybe some ornament bulbs thrown in there.
If you want to DIY, then I would start with a very simple wreath and go from there. If you’re not the most in touch with your creative side, there are plenty of gorgeous options online in every price range.
