Cozy Christmas Decor That Will Save Time
1. Throw blanket & pillows
Time-saving hacks don’t have to be complicated as evident by this tip right here. One of the most simple hacks on the list is to add a throw blanket and pillows that are either Christmas-themed or Christmas colors. Whether it be your living room, your bedroom, or even your backyard, this is one of the easiest ways to add some Christmas spirit to your space.
This can definitely range in price, but if you’re looking to save some money, I would go with this Amazon blanket and pillows. But if you’re ready to spend some of your coins, I would always recommend buying from Pottery Barn. They have the comfiest, most gorgeous blankets and pillows for every season and holiday.
2. Mini tree(s)
This might be a little controversial because I know a big, beautiful Christmas tree is something that most people love to have. But if you’re looking into time-saving Christmas decor, maybe think about having one, two, or even three mini trees instead of one large one. Hear me out – decorating a larger tree can take up so much time.
A larger tree usually includes, ornaments, garland, lights, and more, and that’s without mentioning the process of getting the tree and putting it up. A smaller tree or two would require much less time and effort, and still gets you in that Christmas spirit. Here’s a cheaper option from Amazon, and a more expensive option from Pottery Barn. Both can work!
3. Use ribbon or garland, not ornaments
If you’re unwilling to budge on the tree size, then a better option would be to look into how you’re decorating that tree. Ornaments, although they can be beautiful and sentimental, take a lot more time putting on the tree than other decor that you could swap for it, such as ribbon or garland.
If you’re used to using both, then feel free to just leave the ornaments off this year and see how much time that saves you. If you still want to display your ornaments, you could opt for one large tree with ribbon or garland and one mini tree with your favorite ornaments. Whatever you do, make sure you’re happy with it because it’s your home!
4. Pre-cut red bows
Another great time-saving option for cozy Christmas decor are pre-cut red bows. Not only are they super easy to use, but they’re really versatile. You can use them all throughout your house. One of the most popular ways to use them is on your tree as additional decor or instead of ornaments.
These bows are also super easy to use around other areas of the house, like adding them to any garland that you may already have on your stairs or mantel, on cabinet doors or open shelving in your kitchen, or you could even use a few to tie back your curtains. Functional decor is always the best decor!
5. Fairy lights in jars
One of the simplest options for cozy Christmas decor is a jar, or two, of fairy lights. A set of warm fairy lights instantly add almost a magic-like glow while being super easy to style. Fairy lights are also versatile as well and you can put them into almost any clear container you could think of, meaning you could probably use something that you already have. This is also a great decor idea because something like this can be added to almost any space in your home, from the kitchen to the living room.
6. Decoration bowls
Decoration bowls are another super easy decor option for a cozy Christmas vibe that takes minutes, if that. You could use almost any bowl that you have laying around for this as well. Once you have your bowl, you need to choose what you want to fill it with. Some popular options would be pine cones or ornament bulbs.
Bulbs are super festive and a great choice, but if you want to add a holiday scent to your space, I would go with the pine cones! This is one of my favorite small decor options for Christmas that my mom used, and that I can continue to use every year.
7. Decoration trays
Even though this option sounds similar to the previous one, it’s pretty different. A decoration bowl typically only has one or maybe two types of items in it, as opposed to a decoration tray. A decoration tray usually has a few different items on it, so it can take a little longer, but I promise this will still save you time.
The most popular items are definitely a Christmas figurine, maybe a house or a reindeer, with some small bulbs, candles, and some red berries and pine cones. Don’t think too hard about the placement as well. Remember that we’re looking for cozy and casual. It’s better to almost “throw it together” than to meticulously place each item.
8. Fake white LED candles
Placing white candles around your home has to be one of the easiest pieces of Christmas decor, and there’s nothing that says cozy like a candle. Even though a flickering flame always looks gorgeous, I would encourage anyone to not have multiple lit flames in their home all at once, especially if you have pets or children. Grab some LED candles with a warm glow and spread them around your house. A very popular way to make it look like you decorated your house from the outside is by placing these candles in your windows.
9. Decorative mats & wreaths
As to not leave out an important area of your home, let’s talk about the best, time-saving decor for your entryway: decorative mats & wreaths. Both work easily inside or outside of your home, and they are super easy to literally just throw together. Depending on how much money you want to spend and what your color scheme is, there are endless options for mats and wreaths.
You can get some adorable personalized mats on Etsy, but don’t knock some of the cheaper stores like TJMaxx and Hobby Lobby. As always, if you’re looking to drop a little more money, you could check out Pottery Barn’s Halloween collection. Most importantly don’t forget a door hanger for your wreath!
10. Decorate your current decor
This is another super easy, time-saving hack for you to add a bit of Christmas spirit to your home – add Christmas decor to items that you already have in your rooms! Everyone has something that you can either throw some garland on or even a string of warm fairy lights. Do you have any empty coffee or cookie containers sitting out? Throw some bulbs or pine cones in there.
Do you have another non-Christmas wreath out on your door? Take some red ribbon and lights and get busy! Do you already have a table centerpiece sitting out? Add some ornament bulbs, garland, and candles, and you have yourself a Christmas centerpiece. It doesn’t have to be complicated, and it doesn’t have to take forever! Do what you can with what you have.
11. Santa hats!
Even though this is a little similar to the previous one, I had to add this one in. This can be a little silly, but one of the most time-saving decor hacks you could use to bring a little touch of Christmas spirit to almost anywhere inside or outside of your home. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the large Santa hats as well, as you can grab a bunch of smaller Santa hats online.
This tip depends on what’s currently in your own home, but the following are some great options if you have them: tabletop statues, lamps, tall vases, the corners of mirrors or frames, plants, stuffed animals or dolls, and even kitchen items like a cookie jar. Get creative with it and I promise you’ll have a great time decorating with these Santa hats!
