Insanely Cute Living Room Spring Decor Ideas
1. Lighten up your space with brighter and lighter colors
You don’t have to paint your walls or do anything drastic and time-consuming to utilize colors in this way. Here’s a beautiful example of using a lighter color, such as pink, that can really freshen up a living room for spring. One adorable piece of this is the pink pillow cases on the couch! If you want to buy something similar, I have linked it below:
- Pink Pillow Covers from Amazon – Not only are these pink pillow covers adorable, but they are also super easy to take care of and to take on and off to clean. You can throw it in the washer and dryer with cold water on gentle even though they are velvet. Personally, I would recommend getting pillow covers like this and reusing the same pillow for all your seasons. I love this Amazon store because they have all different colors for every season!
When most people think about spring colors, they immediately go to pastels. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good pastel color as much as the next girl, but it’s also understandable if you don’t want your living room to look like an Easter egg basket just exploded. You can just focus on different shades of pinks, blues, greens, yellows and more if pastel is not your vibe.
2. Usher in the springtime with flowers
Flowers are another way to help transition your living room from winter to springtime. Fake or real, it truly doesn’t matter. Your preference is what’s important! Some of my favorite spring flowers are tulips. Unfortunately, fake realistic tulips are pretty hard to find for cheap, but I linked some really cute fake daisies from Target that I think are adorable!
- Adorable Fake Daisies – These are only one of the many options on Target’s site. They are also part of the Hearth & Hand collection with Magnolia. Just based on that alone, you know they are cute, albeit a little expensive for fake flowers!
If you were looking to go the fake route and don’t mind paying more money, another great option is Etsy. There are some incredible artists on there that can make tulips look real. You would never know the difference! Another plus of going fake is that it’s easier to be pet-friendly. There are certain flowers, including tulips, that are toxic to dogs. So make sure that whatever real flower that you have your eye on isn’t toxic to any of your furry creatures!
If real flowers are more attractive to you, there are also so many places to get them, from grabbing them fresh from the market or even your own backyard. Granted, a lot of spring flowers, including tulips, need to be planted in the fall. But nothing is getting in the way of buying some beautiful potted spring flowers that have already been started at your local store.
3. Get creative with a gallery wall
A gallery wall is a perfect way to bring in some springtime decor to your living room. It’s a fun way to show off a bit of your creative side. One of the easiest ways to go about it is to go with your color scheme and search based off of that and then your theme (flowers, animals, architecture, etc). It also doesn’t need to break the bank, especially with choices like you have below:
- Picture Frames – This choice is a nice, cheaper version from Amazon of different sizes of picture frames. They aren’t gold like the inspo photo, but that could be easily remedied with some good old spray paint.
- Pictures – This is such a good deal as it contains over 90 photos for you to choose from. If these aren’t necessarily your vibe, you can find a lot more similar to this on Amazon. Additionally, if you’re okay with a pricier option and want to support artists directly, Etsy has amazing artists.
The inspo pic is a pretty large area and that’s okay if you don’t have that amount of space because I don’t either. I usually do something on a smaller scale and turns out just as cute! Personally, I do a mix of two Etsy pictures and then choose the Amazon pieces to follow the the Etsy theme, making the Etsy pieces the focal points of my gallery wall.
4. Grab a floral rug
A nice rug is such a simple and easy way to upgrade your living room style. If you want the exact same rug above that comes in a few colors with a beautiful floral design, I’ve linked it below here:
- Floral Rug – One of the best things about this rug is that it’s washable and water repellant – a huge win if you have kids or pets because we all know accidents happen. At this stage in my life, I refuse to buy a rug that I can’t just throw in the washing machine because who has time to spot clean and go over a rug 5x?? Not this girl, that’s for sure.
The Amazon rug is definitely a cheaper option if you’re looking to watch your spending, but another good choice if you’re willing to cough up the money is Ruggable. They have an amazing selection of rugs with all kinds of designs AND they are machine washable as well.
5. Add a tray with cute decor pieces
Adding a small piece of decor like a tray to your living room can give it an instant boost AND function as an organization piece if you want it to. If you’re interested in the specific tray above, the link is below:
You can add cute little pieces like some fake (or real) flowers or a candle or two and, voilà, you have a new decor piece that makes you look organized and chic. But, if you’re anything like me, it can also double as the junk tray of your living room, filled with pet or kid toys hahaha. Hey organized junk is still organized, right? There’s no shame in utilizing your decor pieces to whatever fits your life.
6. Put up a shelf – or redecorate shelves that you already have
Shelves are a perfect way to showcase some springtime decor while also serving as another way to organize any unsightly junk that is currently taking up space in your living room. If you’re interested in wooden shelving that is similar to the ones above, I have linked it below:
Even though these floating shelves from Amazon are labeled as bathroom shelves, these can also just as easily be used in your living room as well. There are endless little pieces of decor that you can add to these, including some of my favorites like small potted plants or flowers, candles, small framed pictures, etc.
7. Place a book or a stack of books on your table
This is one of my favorite ways to add a little sophisticated piece of decor, especially for the book lovers out there. If you already have a nice collection of books, this is such an easy hack for you! If you’re not a huge reader but you love the aesthetic, I would recommend something cheap and easy like the book covers I linked below from Amazon:
These are much cheaper in comparison to buying similar books and they are super easy to put together. Unfortunately for myself, I am a huge reader and spend way too much money on books. What I typically do is go through my own collection of hardback books and remove the covers that typically come with them. Personally, I like to stick to more neutral tones, but that doesn’t mean that you have to.
8. Use a wicker or woven basket for extra storage
This is another super cute decor piece that can double as storage. The one featured above is a little pricey, but if you want a something similar for a lower price point, I’m going to link a cute one below:
You can get a basket similar to this almost anywhere, such as any of the home goods stores close to you. You can easily store any extra blankets or pillows that you’re not currently using. One of my favorite ways to use this is as a catch-all container. When I’m cleaning up for company (or for my own sanity), I will dump anything in this basket that really should stay in the living room, but doesn’t have a nice place to sit out in the open. After all my junk is inside that basket, I will gently drape a cozy blanket over it, so it looks like it’s only filled with other aesthetic, cozy blankets.
9. Cuddle up with some cozy blankets
The last piece of decor to bring in the springtime in your living room is a nice, cozy blanket. Regardless of the season, a good throw blanket is a perfect addition to any living room. Below I have linked a thinner one that comes in a variety of colors:
There really is nothing more inviting than a blanket thrown over the couch, surrounded by a few pillows. You could also pair the blanket with the woven basket above by laying it overtop of it – a blanket can be more versatile than you think!
With these 9 cute decor ideas, your living room will be transformed into a fresh, vibrant space that captures the essence of spring. Whether it’s adding light pastel hues, introducing floral accents, or refreshing your room with smaller decor pieces, every detail can make a big impact.
Now it’s time to take inspiration from these ideas and start curating your perfect spring living room. Happy decorating, and may your home feel as fresh and inviting as the season itself!
